IIS missing WCF .svc handler

"Server Error in Application 'Default Web Site/...' HTTP Error 404.3 - Not Found" - not exactly the most promising start of my brand new website based on AJAX-enabled WCF services.

Just having finished my brand new AJAX enabled website, I decided to deploy the website to our test-server with .NET 3.5 SP1 installed. The server responded rather unwillingly, and I started to look for fix to the problem.
